Bio
My interest in making art started in childhood; however, my commitment to improving my art skills and focusing on my creativity has increased in the past four years as family and work commitments have lessened. For the past four years I have consistently attended portrait and figure drawing classes from the Nevada Museum of Art as well as regularly participating in open studio sessions with Artemisia Art Studios. I recently attended an intensive pastel and sketchbook workshop in Italy this past summer, which was instructive and inspiring. My goal is to continue to improve my drawing and painting skills in partnership with creativity.

I am choosing to apply to the Reno Art Works residency program because I want to work alongside other artists and appreciate the symbiosis of an artist community.

My plan is to have specific days and times when I am in the art space and otherwise be flexible with my creative processes.

I will be working on drawing and painting skills for figure drawing, portraits, and landscapes. I have some individual figure drawing pieces I am currently working on. I work with pastels, watercolors, charcoal, graphite and am branching out into oils.
