DON BOWLAND

Don was born in Turlock, California in August 1946. After a short stint at Modesto Junior College, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After working in a variety of professional and technical areas, his creative abilities began to emerge. His strongest interest is painting.

Don primarily studies the techniques used by the Masters throughout history. He has also received instruction from many contemporary artists including Brian Davis and David McCamant. He experiments extensively to develop his own style. His media of preference is oil painting, but he has also created many works in watercolor and acrylic. Some describe his work as “neo fauvism.” There is every indication that he has found his life’s work, and in the process, has defined himself.
